Los Propios Bateros is a popular percussion ensemble from Lima, Peru, founded in 1980 by Luis "Puchito" Martinez and his brothers. The group is known for incorporating a wide range of Afro-Peruvian rhythms such as festejo, lando, and zamacueca into their high-energy performances. Los Propios Bateros has toured all over the world and has shared the stage with major Latin American musicians such as Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. They continue to inspire and educate young musicians and promote the cultural heritage of Peru through their music.
