A Certain Ratio is an English post-punk and funk band formed in Manchester in 1977. They are known for their experimental sound and cross-genre approach that combines elements of punk, funk, jazz, and electronic music. The band has released 13 studio albums, with their early albums produced by the legendary producer Martin Hannett. They are considered as one of the pioneers of the Manchester music scene and continue to influence many artists today.
