David Cunningham is a British musician, composer, and sound artist, known for his pioneering work in experimental and electronic music. He first emerged in the 1970s as a founding member of the avant-garde group, The Flying Lizards, best known for their unique electronic covers of popular songs. Cunningham continued to work as a solo artist, using electronic instruments, field recordings, and other found sounds, to create abstract and minimal compositions that often explore themes of technology, sound, and perception. His work has been exhibited in art galleries and museums around the world, and he has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Brian Eno, John Cale, and Derek Bailey.
