Michael Pisaro is a composer and guitarist, born in Buffalo, New York in 1961. He is known for his experimental approach to music, incorporating elements of drone, field recordings and extended silences into his compositions. Pisaro's work often explores the relationship between sound, space and time, and has been performed by musicians and ensembles around the world. He is also a professor of composition and experimental sound practices at the California Institute of the Arts.
