Wayne Jarrett is a Jamaican reggae singer who gained prominence in the 1970s. He was known for his smooth vocal style and his conscious lyrics, often singing about social and political issues. Jarrett worked with some of the biggest names in reggae music, including Bob Marley, King Tubby, and Lee "Scratch" Perry. His most well-known songs include "Satta Dread," "Bubble Up," and "Youth Man." Though he never achieved the same level of success as some of his peers, Jarrett remains an important figure in the history of reggae music.
