Smersh was an electronic duo from the United States consisting of two members, Mike Mangino and Chris Shepard. They were active during the 1980s and 1990s, exploring elements of industrial, experimental, and avant-garde music. Their sound was often characterized by the use of unconventional instruments and sampling techniques. Some of their most notable releases include the albums "The Part of the Animal That People Don't Like" and "Super Heavy Solid Waste." After disbanding in the late 1990s, both members pursued solo projects in the music industry.
