World of Pooh was an underground indie-folk band whose music was characterized by poetic lyrics and experimental instrumentation. The band was formed in San Francisco in 1984 and was made up of Barbara Manning, Brandan Kearney, and Jay Paget. They released two albums, "The Land of Thirst" and "The World of Pooh" before disbanding in 1989. Despite their relatively short career, World of Pooh are regarded as pioneers in the indie-folk genre and have influenced many artists who followed in their footsteps.
