Takashi Ueno is a Japanese guitarist, composer, and sound artist based in Tokyo. He is best known for his work with the experimental rock group Tenniscoats, which he founded with his partner Saya in 2000. In addition to his work with Tenniscoats, Ueno has collaborated with a number of other musicians and artists, including Jim O'Rourke, Yoko Noguchi, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, and has released several solo albums exploring ambient and electronic music. His unique approach to guitar playing, which combines a minimalist style with a playful sensibility, has garnered him a devoted following both in Japan and abroad.
