Smokey Haangala was a Zambian musician known for his unique blend of traditional Zamrock music with contemporary influences. He was often referred to as the "King of Zamrock" and gained a large following in the 1970s and 1980s with hits such as "Apa Ni Lungu" and "Elyo Mwaliwama". Haangala's music was characterized by his distinct vocals, catchy guitar riffs, and socially-conscious lyrics that addressed issues such as poverty and corruption. Despite his untimely death in 1987, Smokey Haangala's music continues to inspire generations of Zambian musicians.
