Matumbi was a British reggae band formed in 1971. They were one of the first home-grown reggae bands in the UK and were influential in bringing reggae to a wider audience. The band's members changed frequently over the years, with founding member and guitarist Dennis Bovell being the only constant member. Matumbi released several albums and singles throughout the 1970s and 1980s and continue to be celebrated as pioneers of British reggae.
