Maximum Joy is a British post-punk band from Bristol that was active in the early 1980s. The band's sound incorporates elements of punk, funk, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, with politically charged lyrics. Their debut single "Stretch" was released in 1981, followed by the album "Station MXJY" in 1982. Maximum Joy disbanded in 1983, but their music has continued to be influential among fans of alternative and experimental music.
